SOUP DOG
Join us for a soup cook-off to celebrate the Finish of the Su Dog 300!
The soup contest will take place at the Willow Community Center the afternoon of Monday, January 27th from 3pm onwards.
Drop-off times for entrants will be from 1-2pm on Monday at the Willow Community Center and should coincide with when our Su Dog mushers will be arriving at the finish line! Soup entrants will be asked to leave their crock pots until the following day (Tuesday January 28th) so that race officials, handlers, and mushers can taste and vote on soups as dog teams cross the finish line throughout Monday night and into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
There are NO restrictions on the type of soup you can enter! Our Soup Dog volunteers will manage our soup tables. To taste and vote on soups will cost $5 and all Su Dog 300 volunteers get a free ticket to the soup tasting!
The winner of the Soup Dog contest will be announced Tuesday, January 28th at our Closing Ceremonies and will be awarded a Su Dog plaque and custom Soup Dog Champion potholder. We encourage everyone to join us at the Willow Community Center to welcome our Su Dog teams as their finish the 300 mile race, taste some delicious soups, and celebrate our sled dog community!
